Men's Tennis Ends Spring Break Trip Thursday with 5-2 Loss to Sacramento State

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Drexel men's tennis team dropped its match Thursday afternoon to the Sacramento State Hornets at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club by a score of 5-2 to conclude its spring break trip to California.

The Dragons fall to 10-6 (0-0 CAA) on the year, while the Hornets improve to 8-10 (5-2 Big Sky).

Sacramento State jumped out to the doubles point with wins in the top two positions to take the early lead. In singles, the Hornets clinched the match early with wins in the second, third and first positions, in that order, but the Dragons would not go away without a fight. Youssef Lahlou fought to a three-set victory after losing the first set, 3-6, 6-3, 10-7, in the fifth spot against Christopher Clayton, while Daniil Ginzburg went the distance and outlasted Hermont Legaspi, 6-4, 4-6, 10-8.

The Dragons, men will return to action on Wednesday afternoon when both the men's and women's teams take on Saint Joseph's at Vidas Courts.
