PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Drexel men's rowing team raced its top boats Saturday against Penn on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J. The races were added to the schedule late in the week after the storms spoiled the Quakers' trip to Boston. Racing was scheduled for the Schuylkill River, but moved to Lake Carnegie due to the conditions of the Schuylkill River following Friday's weather.
Drexel's top boat, racing in the brand new Lois Krall II, finished second to Penn with a time of 6:15.8. The Quakers finished with a time of 6:04.8. Drexel's second varsity eight finished second with a time of 6:39.9 in the Sandra Lee Sheller II boat to Penn's 6:22.4. The Dragons' third varsity eight, racing against the second varsity eights in the Lois Krall boat, crossed the finish line with a time of 6:46.8.
The Dragons return to the water Friday and Saturday in our nation's capital at the George Washington Invitational on the Potomac River.
