TOWSON, Md. -- The Drexel women's tennis team dropped it's Colonial Athletic Association matchup Sunday against UNCW in Towson, Md., 6-1.
The Dragons are now 13-6 (1-1 CAA) on the year, while UNCW improves to 8-6 overall.
Drexel came out of the gates swinging en route to winning the doubles point. Ghita Benhadi and Kendra Bunch earned a 7-6 (9-7) win at No. 2, while Lea Winkler and Honami Yazawa made quick work of the Seahawks at No. 3, 6-1. The win for Bunch was the 50th of her career. The good fortunes did not carry over into singles play, though, as UNCW swept the six singles matches.
Drexel returns to action Wednesday when it takes on Saint Joseph's at Vidas Courts.
