Men's Tennis Tripped Up at NJIT, 5-2

NEWARK, N.J. - The Drexel men's tennis team could not come up with a third consecutive victory as the Dragons fell at NJIT on Saturday, 5-2. Drexel won the doubles point and Balaji Lakshmanan got his point at No. 1 singles, but the Dragons could not find any more success on the singles side.
Lakshmanan continued his strong play at the No. 1 position, winning 6-2 6-4 to cruise to the victory. He had also helped the Dragons win the doubles point, teaming with Sanil Jagtiani to take the No. 2 doubles match, 6-4. Youssef Lahlou and Xandy Hammitt won at No. 3 doubles, 6-2, to secure the point.
The men will return to action on Thursday when they host La Salle at the Hecht Hamlin Center at noon. That match will be the start of a four-match homestand for the Dragons.
