Women's Tennis Wins Fifth Straight, 5-1 Over Fordham

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel women's tennis team downed the Fordham University Rams, 5-1, on Wednesday afternoon at the Hecht/Hamlin Center. The Dragons won five of the six singles matches that were completed to clinch the overall match victory.
The Dragons came out firing in singles action as Kendra Bunch won at No. 1 6-4, 6-2, followed by victories from Ghita Benhadi at No. 2 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-4 and Salma Ziouti at No. 3 6-3, 4-6, 6-0. Clary Rodriguez Cruz dropped the last set in the tiebreaker against Maia Balce at No. 4, 6-3, 4-6, 6-0 but the next two Dragons in the lineup were able to earn victories in straight sets. Mya Fuentes won at No. 5 6-4, 6-2 and Anisiya Simpson matched her score at No. 6 6-4, 6-2.
