Women's Tennis Extends Winning Streak to Three with CAA Win Against Towson

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's tennis team won its third consecutive match on Friday night with a 5-2 win against Towson at the Hecht/Hamlin Center on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. Drexel improves to 13-3 (1-0 CAA) on the year, while the Tigers fall to 7-7 (0-2 CAA).
The Dragons got the doubles point with a 6-3 win from Ghita Benhadi and Kendra Bunch followed by a 6-2 victory from Clary Rodriguez Cruz and Salma Ziouti. Drexel then took the match in singles. Ziouti started things off with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3. After falling at No. 6, Mya Fuentes took the win at No. 4, 6-0, 2-6, 6-2. Ryshena Providence clinched the match at No. 5 defeating her opponent, 6-3, 6-2 and Benhadi added the win at No. 2, 7-5, 7-6 (7-2).
The Dragons will return to action on Wednesday, April 4 when they host Saint Joseph's at 1:30 p.m.
