Men's Tennis Downs JMU, Advances to First CAA Semifinals Since 2013

ELON, N.C. - Sinan Orhon clinched the CAA quarterfinal match at No. 3 singles to help propel the Drexel men's tennis team to a 4-2 victory against No. 4 James Madision.
With the win, the Dragon's improved to 14-6 to beat the program record for most matches won (13) and will advance to the CAA Semifinals for the first time in program history since 2013. The Semifinals will be held on Saturday, April 21 against William & Mary. Match time is set for 10 a.m. at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
The Dragons jumped on the Dukes early by securing the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. After dropping the match at No. 3, Sanil Jagtiani and Balaji Lakshamanan teamed up to defeat the Dukes, 6-2, at No. 2 before Sinan Orhon and Bernard Tefel downed their opponents, 6-3, at No. 1. The Dragons dropped singles in the top two spots before winning at No. 4, No. 6, and No. 3, in that order, to secure the victory. Sanil Jagtiani won at No. 4, 7-6, 6-3, while Youssef Lahlou fought to win, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 6 and Orhon clinched the match at No. 3, battling to a 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 victory.
The winner of the match will advance to the CAA Championship match at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 22 at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
