Varsity 4 Highlights Women's Rowing's Sunday at Eastern Sprints

RESULTS
WORCESTER, Mass. – The varsity four's third-place finish highlighted the Drexel women's rowing team's Sunday on Lake Quinsigamond at the Eastern Sprints in Worcester, Mass. Both the varsity eight and second varsity eight took ninth overall.
Racing in the Diane Corle boat, the varsity four continued its strong spring season. As the only Drexel boat to qualify for a grand final on the day, the varsity four raced to a third-place time of 7:33.730, less than two seconds behind Dartmouth for second. Harvard won the race with a time of 7:24.982.
The varsity eight, racing in the Alleva XVII boat, found itself in the petite final after finishing behind Dartmouth and Columbia in heats. The Dragons turned in a third-place time in the petite of 6:43.646 to hold off Boston College by a second and a half. The second varsity eight, racing in the Cara Fry boat, also took to the petite final, finishing third. The Dragons rowed a 7:03.310, behind Boston College's 6:59.218 and Tennessee's 7:00.658. The third varsity eight, racing in the Marlene Buckley II boat, finished with a 7:34.521 to finish behind Temple in the petite final.
The Dragons will close out their regular season on May 11-12 when they race for a sixth consecutive overall team title at the 80th annual Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River.
