Varsity 4 Wins Gold to Cap CAA Championship Sunday Morning

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The women's varsity four won the gold medal Sunday to highlight the Dragons' performance at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship on the Cooper River. Northeastern was crowned conference champion for the fifth year in a row.
Drexel's varsity four capped off an impressive season in the Diane Corle boat with a gold medal performance at CAAs, racing to a winning 8:07.209 to best second-place Northeastern by 6.5 seconds. It was the first time the varsity four won CAA gold. The second varsity eight, fresh off its Dad Vail gold medal, took the silver at CAAs in the Cara Fry boat with a 7:27.761 behind only Northeastern. The varsity eight finished with the bronze in the Cara Fry boat in a time of 7:16.619. The third varsity eight raced in the Marlene Buckley II boat and finished fourth.
Seniors Catherine Haas, Meghan Knecht and Paige Propp, all of whom row in the varsity eight, were named to the All-CAA team.
