PITTSBURGH – Redshirt senior Joey Goodhart of the Drexel wrestling team closed out his time at the 2019 NCAA Championships in Pittsburgh, Pa. from PPG Paints Arena on Friday afternoon. Goodhart was the only Dragon of Drexel's four NCAA qualifier to advance into the second day of competition. With a loss on Friday to Ohio State's Chase Singletary, Goodhart ends his collegiate career with a 102-51 record, good for 8th on Drexel's all-time career wins leaderboard.

First Round // #16 Tate Orndorff (#15 seed, Utah Valley) def. #19 Joey Goodhart (#18 seed, Drexel) / D, 6-4
On Thursday afternoon, Goodhart was narrowly defeated by Utah Valley's Tate Orndorff in a bout to close the afternoon session on Thursday. After a scoreless first period, Goodhart grabbed a 3-1 lead in the second behind an escape and takedown. With Orndorff starting down in the third, he got back within one with an escape but then took the lead with a takedown. Goodhart tied it up, 4-4, with another escape but a second takedown by the Utah Valley wrestler gave him the 6-4 decision.
Consolation // #19 Joey Goodhart (#18 seed, Drexel) def. Antonio Pelusi (#31 seed, Franklin & Marshall) / D, 6-2
On Thursday night, Goodhart picked up the only win of the day for Drexel in his consolation bout against Franklin & Marshall's Antonio Pelusi. He had previously faced and defeated Pelusi in his final matchup of the EIWA Championships as Goodhart claimed third place at the conference championships.
After a scoreless first, Goodhart secured a takedown against Pelusi on Thursday to go up 2-1 in the second. He added an escape and takedown in the third before securing the riding time point. He was hit with a stall warning but that did not affect the outcome before Pelusi notched his second escape as Goodhart won the 6-2 decision.
Consolation // #21 Chase Singletary (#16 seed, Ohio State) def. #19 Joey Goodhart (#18 seed, Drexel) / D, 3-1
As the only Dragons to advance to Friday, Goodhart dropped his second consolation bout of the week in a close fashion as he went up against Chase Singletary of Ohio State. Singletary came out on top in the narrow 3-1 decision behind a third-period takedown after both had earned earlier escapes.
