Men's Swimming Completes Senior Day With Win Over Towson

PHILADELPHIA - Drexel Men's Swimming and Diving not only had the seniors to celebrate, it also had the feeling of victory as they pushed through Colonial Athletic Association member Towson, 166-134 Saturday at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
The Dragons (3-1, 2-0 CAA) took 10 events and gathered many second- and third-place finishes as well.
The 200 medley team of Jason Arthur, Zachary Valenzuela, Paris Raptis and John Scully got the Dragons started in their competition day with a time of 1:31.86.
Arthur and Valenzuela each won their share of events with Arthur taking three individual races. He took the gold medal in the 100 back (50.27), the 200 back (1:49.15) and the 400 IM (4:05.94). Valenzuela took first place in the 100 back (57.44) and the 200 breast (2:07.69).
There was a photo finish victory for Paris Raptis in the 200 fly (1:49.46) as he beat his opponent by four tenths of a second. He also took a first-place victory in the 100 fly (48.98).
In the diving events, Anthony Musciano won the 3-meter dive and took second in the 1-meter dive.
Drexel will be traveling to Georgetown next Saturday to face the Hoyas at 12 p.m.
