No. 5 Men’s Squash Prevails over No. 14 Cornell, 7-2

PHILADELPHIA – The fifth-ranked Drexel men's squash team claimed a 7-2 victory over No. 14 Cornell at the Kline & Specter Squash Center on Sunday. The Dragons improve to 7-3 overall.
Three of Drexel's seven wins came via the sweep as Matias Knudsen, Noel Heaton and Gautam Nagpal all won in three games.
Knudsen returned from an extended absence for an 11-6, 11-2, 11-4 win over Charles Culhane in the No. 2 match. The victory is the eighth-straight to start the season for Knudsen, who improved to 21-6 in his Drexel career.
Heaton topped Luke Park in the fourth-seeded flight, 11-6, 11-5, 11-6.
Nagpal improved his season record to 8-1 with an 11-8, 11-5, 13-11 sweep of Thomas Mocorrea in the No. 8 match.
Lucas Rousselet notched career victory number 33 with a four-game win in the top-seeded match. The 12-10, 8-11, 11-7, 1-6 triumph moved the senior from Saint-Maur-des-Fossés into ninth on the all-time wins list at Drexel.
Dylan Kachur prevailed in five games against Nikhil Iver in the No. 3 flight. Kachur staked out a 12-10, 11-5 lead after two games before Iver rallied with 11-7 and 11-5 wins to tie the match. Kachur easily took the deciding game, 11-4.
Filip Krueger needed just one extra game to move past Nicholas Errington in the No. 5 match. Krueger won the first game, 17-15, but fell by an 11-4 score in the second. From there, the sophomore from Stockholm, Sweden won 13-11 and 11-4 for his sixth victory of the season.
Matthew Lucente toppled Illia Presman in four games in the No. 6 match – 13-11, 10-12, 11-6, 11-6.
The Dragons begin just their second road trip of the year with matches at No. 11 Dartmouth on Friday and at top-ranked Harvard on Saturday.
