CAA Women's Basketball Tournament Canceled, Drexel Suspends Spring Sports

PHILADELPHIA – The Colonial Athletic Association has announced that the remainder of the Women's Basketball Championship has been canceled in response to continued developments regarding the spread of the Coronavirus. The Dragons were scheduled to play UNCW today at Elon University.
Recognizing that the health and safety of our students, campus and community is of our primary concern, Drexel Athletics and Drexel University has made the difficult decision to suspend spring sports effective immediately and until further notice. Teams that are currently away playing in non-conference events will complete the competition and then return to campus.
Drexel will monitor how the NCAA proceeds in regards to the winter sports championships before making a decision. This includes wrestling and women's basketball.
Drexel Athletics and Drexel University will reevaluate the situation on a continuing basis. Additional details regarding the spring sports season will be provided at a later date when more details become available.
