GREENWOOD, Ind. - The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) selected Chris Donovan of Drexel Men's Soccer to its Academic All-America Second Team. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. Student-athletes are nominated by the communications offices of their respective universities and then voted on by CoSIDA members in their district.
Donovan, a sport management major, compiled an impressive resume in 2021. On top of being named to the United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Region First Team and the Philadelphia Inqiurer Men's Soccer Performer of the Year, the forward earned Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Year Honors and All-CAA first-team honors. Donovan was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 first team, the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List and was a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award.
Donovan led the 2021 Dragons with 12 goals and a pair of assists, pushing his career total to 30 goals and 73 points, just five points shy of 10th in the Drexel record book.
