Men's Swimming and Diving Down Lehigh, 196-102, in Return to the DAC

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Drexel swimming and diving team returned to the Daskalakis Athletic Center to compete, on Saturday, for the first time in 1,024 days. The Dragons hosted Lehigh in a dual meet that ended in Drexel's favor, 196-102.
In the 400 medley relay, Alessio Gianni, Kacper Karnik, Paris Raptis and John Scully teamed up and finished in 3:19.89 to finish first and set a pool record. Immediately after, Will Soleo finished first in the 1,000 free with a time of 9:55.16.
Karnik finished first in the 50 and 100 breast with times of 25.55 and 56.27, respectively. Karnik finished with four first-place finishes on the day. Scully joined Karnik, also having four first-place finishes. Scully touched the wall first in the 50 free and 100 free, swimming a 20.87 in the 50 free and 46.34 in the 100 free. Karnik and Scully, along with Alex Flynn and Alasdair Bell finished first in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:24.18.
Gianni finished first in the 100 fly with a time of 51.36. Raptis touched the wall first in the 50 fly with a time of 22.23. Raptis also finished first in the 200 IM with a time of 1:55.03.
In the 500 free, Xabier Carneiro touched the wall in 4:45.80 to place first in the event.
Jack Patton scored a 287.18 in the 3-meter dive to finish in first place on the diving board.
The Dragons return to the DAC on Jan. 8 to host conference rivals, Delaware. The meet also will be Drexel's alumni meet. Action is set to kickoff at 10:30 a.m.
