PHILADELPHIA – Drexel Head Coach Zach Spiker has announced that Justin Moore, Kobe Magee and Shane Blakeney have signed National Letters of Intent to play basketball for the Dragons beginning next fall.
Moore, who plays locally at Archbishop Wood, is a 6-foot-3 guard from Cheltenham. He was a Second Team All-Catholic League pick as a junior while playing at Bishop McDevitt. Moore was also named to the 2020-21 PA Sportswriters Boys' Basketball 3A Second-Team. "Justin is a tremendous leader both on and off the court," said Spiker. "Having grown up in Philly, he understands the long history of Drexel and will be a great addition to our program."
Magee is a 6-foot-5 wing from Allentown, Pa. He attends Executive Education Academy and helped lead his team to the District 11 title last season. Magee averaged in double figures and was a First Team Allentown Morning Call All-Area selection. "Kobe has embraced our culture from day one," said Spiker. "He will bring a lot of energy and passion to our program. Kobe will be a great addition to not only our program but also to the Drexel community."
Blakeney comes to Drexel from Legion Collegiate Academy in Rock Hill, S.C. He averaged 14.5 points per game as a junior. Blakeney can play both guard spots and was named to the All-Region 4-2A team. He is no stranger to this area as he has family in Philadelphia and the surrounding area. "Shane is an outstanding student-athlete from South Carolina," said Spiker. "He will add depth to our backcourt and we are excited to get him to University City."
