PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's soccer team (1-1) suffered its first loss of the season, falling to the Saint Joseph's Hawks (1-1) on Saturday afternoon, 2-0. The Dragons took a total of 10 shots but could not find the back of the net. The Hawks were able to score in both halves.

The Hawks' first goal came off a Drexel foul inside the penalty area in the 19th minute. Saint Joseph's Alan Kahlenbeck was awarded a penalty kick, which he successfully converted to give the Hawks the lead.

Saint Joseph's got its insurance goal in the 52nd minute from David Grana. The defender received a cross from James Fletcher and scored to put the Hawks up by two.

Drexel was able to create a number of opportunities on the offensive end. The Dragons had back-to-back corner kicks in the 71st minute, which almost led to their first goal. Harrison Coron had a good look at goal off the latter half of the two corner kicks, but Hawks goalkeeper Kyle Allen saved the shot.

Drexel is scheduled to return to Vidas Field and play Saint Joseph's once more this Wednesday for its home opener at 4 p.m.
