Wrestling Closes Out Weekend at Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. –The Drexel University wrestling team faced the Hofstra University Pride in 12 individual matches on Saturday night in eight different weight classes to close out the three-match day.
The Dragons and the Pride split the lineup, each winning six matches.
Tyler Williams won his 141-pound bout by a major decision over Hofstra's Vinny Vespa, 13-0.
The remaining five victories all came by decision.
At 149 pounds, Luke Nichter defeated the Pride's Greg Gaxiola, a returning national qualifier, 7-2.
Chandler Olson (133), Jared Donahue (149), Michael O'Malley (174) and Jaxon Maroney (133) also turned in decision victories for Drexel to close out the weekend.
NEXT UP
The next scheduled match for the Dragons has Drexel traveling to Fairfax, Va. to face George Mason University on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
