RICHMOND, Va. – Junior Chris Donovan of the Drexel men's soccer team was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. The news was announced by the CAA office.
Donovan scored the first two goals for Drexel in its 4-1 victory over Delaware. The two goals were separated by less than a minute and gave the Dragons the energy to complete the victory and clinch the first playoff berth since 2013. The Paoli, Pa. native is now second on the team in goals with seven, tying a season-high.
The Dragons will return to Vidas Field to host and play in the CAA Men's Soccer Championship. As the North Division's second-seeded team, Drexel will play James Madison, who finished first in the South Division. Kickoff is scheduled for noon on Thursday, April 15. The game can be seen on FloSports.
