
Drexel Athletics Suite Named after Outgoing Athletic Director Eric Zillmer

PHILADELPHIA - Drexel University unveiled the Eric A. Zillmer, PsyD, Director of Athletics Suite on June 23, 2021. The ceremony honored Zillmer, Drexel's Director of Athletics and the Carl R. Pacifico Professor of Neuropsychology. Zillmer, is stepping aside June 30th after 23 years at Drexel. He had the sixth longest current tenure as an AD in Division I before stepping aside. Over the course of his career, Drexel had teams from five sports win CAA championships. This season, the Dragons won three titles and had four teams advance to the NCAA Tournament, the most since the University joined the ranks of Division I.
Drexel has been a national leader in Title IX and was ranked #1 I the nation by U.S. News & World Report. He was instrumental in reshaping Drexel Athletics footprint; securing a partnership with Bachelors Barge Club on historic Boathouse Row; the adaptive use of the Philadelphia Armory to host the Arlen Specter US Squash Center as a national training center; building the Recreation Center, Buckley and Vidas bubbles; and renovating the Vidas Athletic Complex.
