PHILADELPHIA – Drexel Head Coach Zach Spiker has announced that Horace Simmons has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Dragons beginning in the fall.
Simmons is a 6-foot-6 wing from Glenside, Pa. He is currently a senior at La Salle College High School in Wyndmoor, Pa. As a junior, Simmons averaged 14 points and 7.8 rebounds. He also chipped in with two assists, 1.6 blocks and one steal per game. He was named Second Team All-Catholic League last season.
"Horace is a high character young man who fits the needs of our basketball program, said Spiker. "We are excited to add another local player who can help us compete for a CAA title. He has the size and shot making ability that we value. Above all, he embodies our core values (Gratitude. Respect. Compete.) and the overall mission of Drexel University."
