PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel community is in mourning after learning of the passing of Dave Clawson. Dave passed away on Sunday after a long illness. His infectious smile, personality and sense of humor touched everyone he came in contact with while serving as the clock and scoreboard operator at the Daskalakis Athletic Center for more than 30 years.
Dave and his wife, Kathleen, have been coming to Drexel basketball games since his undergraduate days at the school. A 1975 Drexel graduate, Dave was inducted in the Drexel Athletics Hall of Fame as the Athletics Director Legacy Award winner in 2017. He retired as University Registrar of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia after more than thirty years of service.
The family will be holding a private service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Dave's honor to the Men's and Women's Basketball programs at Drexel University.
