Program Bests Highlight 2022 IRA National Championships for Men's Rowing

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The Drexel University men's rowing team turned in a couple of program best performances as the Dragons competed at the 2022 IRA National Championships on Sunday.
FULL RESULTS
Leading the way was the 2V8+. Competing in the Petite Final for the first time, Drexel finished sixth in the race, securing the best ever overall finish at IRA's for the boat, placing 12th. The team of Billy Ernst (coxswain), John Little (stroke), CJ Rooney, James Schmidt, Herbert De Cokere, Nemanja Sajatovic, Sam Valigorsky, Jake Miller, and Kosta Petkovic (bow) rowed Lois Krall II to a time of 6:18.15.
The V8+ squad of Sam DeSilva (coxswain), Josh Diggons (stroke), Matt Reilly, Dimitrije Ibrocic, Damian Lis, Michael Pazderski, Andrew Manns, John Karen, and Roman Smigiel (bow) turned in a fourth place finish in the Third Level final, tying the program's best placement of 16th overall. Competing in Lois Krall III, the team crossed the finish line in 6:01.62.
Also in a Third Level final, the 3V8+, rowed Sandra Lee Scheller II to a fourth place finish, to place 16th overall as Alex Dragovits (coxswain), Lake Watson (stroke), Nikola Loncar, Richmond Coney, Nick Perks, Sean Blair, Daniel Yurcisin, Jack Anderson, and Chris Cail (bow) turned in a time of 6:21.71.
Competing in its final on Saturday, the V4+ of Matt Sherman (coxswain), Malcolm Grauley (stroke), Joe Glenn, Jack Hutchison, and Dearon Tufankjian, competing in Dan Lyons, place fourth in the Fourth Level final with a 6:52.331 clocking.
