CAA Announces Recipients of the Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2021-22

RICHMOND, Va. – The Colonial Athletic Association has announced the recipients of the Team Academic Excellence awards for the 2021-22 season. Drexel was one of two schools to lead the way in the conference with four honorees.
The Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes the institution with the highest collective grade point average in all 22 sports sponsored by the CAA. The team GPA is a calculation of the grade point average of each student-athlete who appeared on an institution's roster throughout the final day of their respective championship seasons during the 2021-22 academic year.
The Dragons were recognized in men's basketball, women's basketball, men's swimming & diving, and men's tennis.
10 different schools were honored across the 22 awards. Drexel and Elon each had four teams recognized, while Delaware and UNCW each had three. In 15 of the 22 sports, the winning team had a cumulative grade point average over 3.5.
