
Wrestling Announces 2022-23 Schedule

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel University wrestling team unveiled its 2022-23 schedule today. The schedule includes three tournament-style matches, nine EIWA duals, EIWA Championships and the NCAA Championships. Drexel's slate features the inaugural B1G and EIWA Challenge as well as duals against Wisconsin and City 6 rival, Penn.
Drexel opens its season on the road in Kansas City at the Mizzou Tiger Style Invitational on Nov. 12. This is Drexel's first appearance in the invitational. The Dragons then head home to familiar territory to wrestle in the Keystone Classic at the Palestra on Nov. 20.
DU is on the road for its next four appearances, traveling to New Jersey to face Rutgers and Indiana in the B1G and EIWA- Garden State Grapple. Drexel has not competed against either the Hoosiers or Scarlet Knights in more than seven seasons. DU continues its schedule against B1G opponents when it travels to the Midwest to face Wisconsin for the first time since 2003 on Dec. 11 before matches in the Purdue Duals (Dec. 20). The Dragons end the trip in the F&M Open on Jan. 6.
The Dragons have their home opener on Jan. 13 against Binghamton and then start their EIWA dual schedule against Franklin & Marshall, Bucknell and Brown. Drexel then heads to New York for three matches against George Mason and EIWA rivals, LIU and Hofstra. DU returns home to the DAC to face Army (Feb. 11) and Penn (Feb. 12). Drexel's final road test will be duals against Rider and Cleveland State in Lawrenceville, N.J. on Feb. 18. The regular season closes out with Senior night on Feb. 19 at the DAC against American.
The postseason starts in Philadelphia at the EIWA Championships on March 4 and 5. Drexel then looks to the NCAA Championships in Tulsa on March 16 to 18.
Drexel closed out last season with a win against Rider on senior night and advanced two wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
