
Dragons Fall in Non-Conference Finale at Bryant

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Bryant made 15 of their 22 3-pointers and defeated Drexel, 104-86, in Drexel's non-conference finale on Friday at the Chace Center. Justin Moore had a career-high 34 points in a losing effort. Drexel fell to 7-6 on the year, while Bryant is now 8-6.
The Bulldogs reached 100 points for the fourth time this season, including in back-to-back games against CAA teams. They defeated Towson in double overtime in their last game.Drexel was not able to cut the deficit to single digits the entire second half as Bryant had one of those nights from the floor. They shot 71 percent in the second half and finished the game at 63 percent.
Moore had 23 of his 34 points in the second half. He finished the game 13-for-24 from the floor and was perfect in five free throw attempts. Amari Williams had a double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and had five assists. Jamie Bergens added nine points.
The Dragons struggled from the floor in the early going as they missed eight straight shots at one point. Bryant capitalized and went on a 9-0 run to take a 13-point lead midway through the first stanza. The lead would swell to 17 points at the half as Bryant seemed to capitalize on every opportunity. The Bulldogs forced eight Drexel turnovers and shot 55 percent in the half. On the other end, the Dragons only made 11 of their 37 attempts (.297).
Sherif Gross-Bullock had 29 points to lead Bryant. He was 5-for-8 from deep. Rafael Pinzon added 20 points and four treys, while Earl Timberlake had a triple-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists without committing a turnover.
The Dragons are off until New Year's Day when they begin conference play at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. Hampton University will come to town for a noon tip-off that can be seen live on the CBS Sports Network.
