Washington Garners Fifth CAA Player of the Week Honor

RICHMOND, Va. - Keishana Washington of the Drexel women's basketball team has been named the CAA Player of the Week for the period from February 13-19. It is the fifth time this season she is receiving the award.
Washington averaged 36.5 points per game, connecting on 27-of-30 free throws and made six threes in a pair of games for the Dragons. At Delaware on Sunday, she posted her third game with 40 or more points this season, the only player thusfar in Division I with three such games, while dishing three assists and puling down four rebounds. She netted 33 points and went 12-for-13 at the line against Northeastern on Friday. The game against Delaware was also her 100th career game in double figures.
It was also Washington's fourth career game with 40+ points, setting a Drexel record, previously held by Gabriela Marginean. The graduate student from Pickering, Ontario is averaging 32.5 points per game in the month of February.
Drexel returns to action on Friday when it plays its final regular season road game, traveling to Hofstra. Tipoff from Hempstead, N.Y. is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
