Alessio Gianni Breaks a Program Record as Day Two of the CSCAA National Invitational Concludes

ELKHART, Ind. - Drexel swimming and diving team finished day two of the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America National Invitational Championships.

ALESSIO GIANNI

Alessio Gianni broke the program record in the 400 IM, finishing fifth thanks to his time of 3:51.32. This broke the mark set by Drexel Swim & Dive alum Jason Arthur who set the record back at the CAA Championships in the year 2020.

KACPER KARNIK

Kacper Karnik finished sixth in the 100 breast, clocking in at 53.49.

ANDREA CASINI

Andrea Casini placed 13th in the 200 free, clocking in at 1:37.34.

JAKUB KWASNY

Jakub Kwasny finished in 11th in the 100 fly, finishing with a time of 47.04.

SEBASTIAN SMITH

Sebastian Smith finished 10th in the 100 fly with a time of 47.94 in the A Final.

RELAYS

The men's swimming team competed in the 200 medley relay as well Friday night. Alasdair Bell, Kacper Karnik, Jakub Kwasny and Sebastian Smith teamed up for a time of 1:27.34 which was good enough to earn them fourth place overall. Meanwhile for the women's team, Aldercy Bui, Ewa Osiniak, Megan Ehrnfeldt and Delaney Leonard combined for a time of 1:43.84 which was good enough to place 37th.

Thursday: 200 Free Relay, 50 Back, 500 Free, 50 Fly, 200 IM, 50 Breast, 50 Free, 400 Medley Relay

Friday: 200 Medley Relay, 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back, 800 Free Relay

Saturday: 1000 Free, 1650 Free, 100 IM, 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast, 200 Fly, 400 Free

The final day of the CSCAA National Invitational Championships will begin Saturday morning with preliminaries at 9:30 a.m., followed by finals at 6 p.m.
