Bushma Earns First Team All-America for Women's Squash; Three Players Advance to Saturday

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's squash team opened play with one guaranteed First Team All-America finish and three players competing into Saturday.
Alina Bushma garnered First Team All-America status for a second consecutive season by defeating Wei Li Lai of Cornell, 11-5, 11-8, 11-3, guaranteeing her a top-8 finish. Bushma was upended by Meagan Best of Virginia in her quarterfinal, 11-8, 11-6, 11-8.
Karina Tyma is also still in play for First Team All-America accolades. After falling in her first match, she downed Habeeba Eldefrawy of Harvard, 11-7, 11-8, 11-3 to move into the consolation semifinals of the main draw.
Margot Prow advanced in the Holleran West bracket, downing Habiba Abouelatta of Mt. Holyoke, 11-1, 11-2, 11-1 before being upended in the quarterfinals.
Emma Bartley won her first match in the Holleran South bracket, 11-6, 11-8, 11-3 against Rafaela Albuja of William Smith. She would battle to four games, before bowing in her quarterfinal.
A pair of Dragons were defeated in their first matches before advancing in the consolation draw. In Holleran North, Moa Bonnemark qualified for the consolation semis with a, 11-0, 11-2, 11-4 win against Rachel Matamoros of Connecticut College. In Holleran East, Dina Rosli bounced back for an 11-1, 11-5, 11-2 win against Gurlin Kaur of Franklin & Marshall.
