Knudsen Named Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Performer of the Year

PHILADELPHIA – Matias Knudsen of the Drexel men's squash team was named the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men's At Large Performer of the Year as announced on Wednesday.
In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area, a student-athlete must be in their second year or higher at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of 30 institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
A graduate student, Knudsen is a two-time first-team College Squash Association All-American. He went 15-4 overall in 2022-23, 14-3 in team play, all at the number one position on the Dragons' ladder. He also won three medals, one gold and two silver, at the Junior Pan Am Games competing for his home country of Colombia. Knudsen will graduate with a 51-16 overall record.
In the classroom, Knudsen is earning his masters in business administration, holding a 4.0 GPA in grad school following the completion of his undergraduate work with a 3.42 GPA.
