Dragons of the Week: Lemongo and English

PHILADELPHIA - Lorie Lemongo of women's tennis and Brockton English of golf have been named the Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, for the period from April 17-23.
Lemongo led the Dragons on a historic run at the CAA Championships as Drexel advanced to the semifinal for the first time in program history. The sophomore teamed up with Renata Lombera to take their doubles match before Lemongo won at first flight singles 6-1, 6-0 as DU won its opener against Monmouth. Drexel then became the first ever No. 7 seed to advance to the CAA Championship semifinals with a stunning upset against No. 2 Delaware. In the match against the Blue Hens, the Yaounde, Cameroon native dropped the first set in the top flight singles match before rallying for a 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 win, earning the clinching point.
English tied his low round for the season with a 69 in the opening 18 holes of the CAA Championship on the Cotton Dike Course at Dataw Island and is tied for second at the event. The sophomore from Shelby Township, Michigan had a bogey-free front nine and posted four birdies on Sunday. After playing even through the first four holes, English birdied five and seven. He gave a stroke back with a bogey on the tenth hole before rebounding with a birdie on No. 11 and another at No. 14 to complete his day at -3. Overall Drexel heads into day two with a four stroke lead against UNCW.
