Women's Tennis Advances to CAA Semifinals; Defeat Elon 4-2

ELON, N.C. – The Drexel women's tennis team has advanced to the semifinals of the CAA Championships after defeating the Elon Phoenix, 4-2, on Friday afternoon.
Drexel won the doubles point behind a stellar performance in the No. 2 and No. 3 matches. Elisa Rigazio and Maddie Ricardo earned a 6-3 victory in the second-seeded match, while Isabel Cabrerizo and Adva Dabah clinched a 6-1 victory.
In singles play, Ricardo gave Drexel a 2-0 lead after defeating her opponent, 6-2, 6-2. In the No. 2 spot, Rigazio finished her opponent 7-6 (6), 6-1. Elon bounced back by winning the sixth-seeded and third-seeded matches, pulling within one of the Dragons, 3-2. To clinch the match, Lorie Lemongo finished off her first-seeded match winning back-to-back sets, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Drexel is set to face Delaware in the semifinals of the CAA Championships. First serve from Elon, N.C. is slated for 10 a.m.
