Women's Basketball, Women's Swimming & Diving Named CAA Team Academic Excellence Award Winners

RICHMOND, Va. - The Drexel women's basketball team and women's swimming & diving team have been named the Coastal Athletic Association's recipients of the Team Academic Excellence Awards for the 2023-24 academic year.
The Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes the institution with the highest collective grade point average in all 22 sports sponsored by the CAA. The team GPA is a calculation of the grade point average of each student-athlete who appeared on an institution's roster throughout the final day of their respective championship seasons during the 2023-24 academic year.
Thirteen different schools had at least one team receive a Team Academic Excellence Award. Monmouth led the way with five award recipients, followed by Hofstra with four, Elon with three and Drexel with two.
The Team Academic Excellence Award winner in 18 of the 22 sports recorded a team grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
