Dragon of the Week: Nichter and Waterman

PHILADELPHIA – Luke Nichter and Kyle Waterman named the Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, for the week of December 9th–15th.

Luke Nichter, a member of the wrestling team, earned a statement victory against No. 26 Anthony White of Rutgers in Drexel's dual at the RAC. The redshirt senior secured the win with a takedown in sudden victory, redeeming an earlier loss to White at the Keystone Classic. The Chambersburg, Pa. native helped Drexel take a 12-6 lead at intermission against the 14th-ranked Scarlet Knights.

Kyle Waterman, a member of the wrestling team, opened the scoring for the Dragons with an upset win at 133 pounds over No. 13 Dylan Shawver. The redshirt senior used a late escape to break a 4-4 tie and secure the decision, giving Drexel early momentum in the dual. The Holland, Pa. native recorded one of two ranked victories on the day as the Dragons went toe-to-toe with a nationally ranked Rutgers lineup.
