COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO – Valentine Van Hellemont of the Drexel field hockey team was named a 2025 NFHCA First Team All-American, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The honor marks the first First Team All-American selection in program history.
Van Hellemont adds another milestone to a historic junior season that already included CAA Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive year, NFHCA All-Region First Team recognition, and CAA Tournament MVP. She became the first Drexel player to earn three major CAA awards in a career, having previously been named Rookie of the Year in 2023 before collecting Player of the Year honors in both 2024 and 2025.
The Lier, Belgium native started all 21 games and finished the season tied for the team lead with 28 points on eight goals and 12 assists. She ranked fourth in the CAA in points per game (1.33) and second in assists per game (0.57), while earning her third consecutive All-CAA First Team selection. Van Hellemont was a key contributor throughout the season as the Dragons captured their first CAA Championship since 2012 and returned to the NCAA Tournament.
