Dragon of the Week: Baker and Panov

PHILADELPHIA – Amaris Baker and Victor Panov named the Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, for the week of December 16th–22nd.
Amaris Baker, a member of the women's basketball team, turned in a pair of standout performances as Drexel went 1-1 on the week. The graduate student scored a game-high 26 points in the Dragons' 95-38 victory over Chestnut Hill, the largest margin of victory in program history. She followed with a 33-point effort in Drexel's matchup against Vermont, marking her third career game with 30 or more points and her highest scoring output inside the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Philadelphia, Pa. native has now totaled 1,139 points in her Drexel career, moving into 19th on the program's all-time scoring list.
Victor Panov, a member of the men's basketball team, helped lead Drexel to a pair of home victories against Mount St. Mary's and Maine. The senior scored a career-high 16 points against the Mountaineers before setting another career best with 19 points in a 74-56 win over Maine. The Stockholm, Sweden native shot 60 percent from the field against the Black Bears, including 5-for-9 from three-point range, as the Dragons finished the week unbeaten.
