LOUDONVILLE. N.Y.– Drexel Women's tennis holds off Siena College on the road, winning 4-3. The Dragons move to 2-0 on the early season.
Drexel secured the doubles point with strong performances in two matches. Rebecca Fiedler and Anastasia Kavounov earned a 6-2 victory over Reegan Mullaney and Zaara Omar, while Sofiya Snitko and Bia Ibrahim clinched the point with a 6-4 win against Andrea Vargas and Madeline De Faber-Schumacher. The top doubles match featuring Elisa Rigazio and Maddie Ricardo against Laia Giralt and Manuela Gomez was unfinished at 4-5.
In singles, Drexel secured three key wins. Elisa Rigazio led the way with a commanding 6-1, 6-3 victory over Andrea Vargas. Maddie Ricardo followed with a decisive 6-3, 6-0 win against Reegan Mullaney. Anastasia Kavounov added another point for Drexel, defeating Zaara Omar 6-3, 6-2.
The Dragons will have a quick turnaround as they will take on Syracuse tomorrow at 11:00am.
