PHILADELPHIA– Drexel women's tennis defeated Villanova 4-1 on Thursday afternoon. The Dragons move to 4-1 on the season.
Rigazio and Sofiya Snitko edged out a 6-4 win over Sophia Edwards and Lauren Monti, while Anastasia Kavounov and Rebecca Fiedler cruised to a 6-1 victory over Maggie Gehrig and Olivia Corcoran.
In singles, Sofiya Snitko picked up a 6-0, 6-3 win over Maggie Gehrig. Anastasia Kavounov followed with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Olivia Corcoran. Elisa Rigazio staged a comeback after dropping the first set, defeating Sophia Edwards 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 to seal the 4-1 team victory.
The Dragons will be on the road at Stony Brook on Saturday. The match is set for 6:00pm.
