Drexel Co-Hosts NCAA Wrestling Championships at Wells Fargo Center

PHILADELPHIA — Drexel University, in conjunction with the University of Pennsylvania, co-hosted the 2025 NCAA DI Men's Wrestling National Championships at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
The three-day competition drew over 100,000 fans to South Philadelphia to sell out two sessions. Penn State claimed their four consecutive NCAA team title with a total of 177 points, breaking their own record of 172.5 set last season.
With President Donald J. Trump in attendance on Saturday, the championship took center stage in national headlines.The night was capped off with the 285-pound championship bout between Oklahoma State's Wyatt Hendrickson and Olympic Gold Medalist and two-time NCAA Champion Gable Steveson of Minnesota. Hendrickson took down the gold medalist in the final seconds of the third period to win by a 5-4 decision. Hendrickson's victory is widely considered one of the biggest upsets in NCAA wrestling history.
