Dragons Finish Day One of Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate in Fourth Place

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Drexel golf team finished the first day of the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate, hosted by William & Mary on Monday afternoon. The two-day tournament is being played at the Golden Horseshow Golf Club which was playing at 6,817-yards. The Dragons finished two-round day one in fourth place with 11-over par. Longwood paces the leaderboard, shooting one-under par.
Drue Nicholas was the team's top finisher after day one. The graduate student shot even par with 71 in both of his rounds, ranking him eighth overall on the player leaderboard. Kevin Lydon posted a 3-over par after shooting an even par in the second round. Caleb Taylor ended the day shooting 8-over par, while Griffin Mitchell shot 4-over par with the help of an eagle on the par-5 15th hole. Mitchell's eagle on 15 was the only eagle for that hole in both rounds.
Drexel returns to Golden Horseshoe GC on Tuesday to play the final round of the invitational. The tee time is set for 8:30 a.m.
