Drue Nicholas Named Philly-SIDA Academic Performer of the Year

Nicholas and Mitchell Earn Academic All-Area Team Honors
PHILADELPHIA - Drue Nicholas of the Drexel golf team has been named the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Performer of the Year for Men's Golf. In addition, Nicholas and Griffin Mitchell were selected to the Academic All-Area Team.
Nicholas capped off his distinguished career as a Dragon with four All-CAA team honors, including a First Team honor and three Second Team picks. The Egg Harbor Township, N.J., native led DU in scoring average (71.6) and was an Division I Northeast PING All-Region team honoree. He finished with eight total CAA Player of the Week awards with two recognitions this season. Nicholas captured five top five finishes in his 24-25 campaign, including medaling at the Peoples Championship in St. Simons Island, Ga.
Mitchell was second on the team in scoring average at 73.3. The graduate student earned Second team All-CAA honors in back-to-back seasons. He finished second at the CAA Championships this year, hitting an eagle on 18 to send the Dragons to a playoff for the conference title. The New Albany, Ohio product had eight rounds at par or better, including a 2-under performance at the Peoples Championship.
