Drexel Announces Four Signings for the Upcoming Men’s Basketball Season

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel Head Coach Zach Spiker has announced the signings of four student-athletes that will join the men's basketball team for the upcoming season. Eli Beard, Martin de Laporterie, Moses Hipps and Dillon Tingler will attend Drexel beginning this summer.
"We are excited that these four men chose to attend Drexel," said Drexel Head Coach Zach Spiker. "It was apparent on their visits that they fit in with the culture of our program. They each have a chance to make an impact on our program right away and we are excited to have them join us this summer."
Beard played the last two seasons at Mary Hardin-Baylor, a Division III school in Belton, Texas. He scored more than 1,000 points in his two seasons and averaged 22.3 points. He scored a career-high 44 points in a conference tournament game. Beard will have one season of eligibility with the Dragons.
de Laporterie spent the last two seasons at Yavapai College in Prescott Arizona. He was a JuCo Top 100 Honorable Mention selection after averaging 12.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. The 7-foot-1 forward is originally from Bordeaux, France.
Hipps comes to Drexel after sitting out last season as a redshirt at Boise State. He will have four years of eligibility remaining. |The 6-foot-4 guard, who is from Voorhees, N.J., attended Archbishop Carroll before graduating from Arizona Compass in Chandler, Ariz. He was a top 250 recruit and a three-star prospect from the class of 2024.
Tingler is a 6-foot-7 guard who spent last season at Eastern Michigan. He played in all 32 games last year with the Eagles. Tingler will have three years of eligibility remaining. He was a consensus three-star recruit in the class of 2024 and was the second-ranked player from West Virginia, where he attended Huntington Prep.
