Dragon of the Week: Bartley and Groenewald

PHILADELPHIA – Luhann Groenewald and Emma Bartley named the Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, for the week of January 13th–19th.

Luhann Groenewald, a member of the men's squash team, helped propel Drexel to a 6-3 victory over No. 4 Virginia at the Kline and Specter Squash Center. The freshman earned a four-game win at the No. 3 position, rebounding after dropping the opening game to secure the point for the Dragons. The Pretoria, South Africa native played a key role as Drexel knocked off its highest-ranked opponent of the season.

Emma Bartley, a member of the women's squash team, contributed one of Drexel's three points in the Dragons' matchup against No. 6 Virginia. The senior picked up a straight-game victory at the No. 2 position, defeating Maria Min, 11-5, 11-7, 11-7. The Bury St Edmunds, England native delivered a strong performance against a nationally ranked opponent.
