Blakeney Named Big 5 Men's Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Shane Blakeney of the Drexel men's basketball team has been named Big 5 Men's Player of the Week.
Blakeney averaged 20.3 points and 5.6 rebounds over three games this week, highlighted by a career-tying 24-point performance against Towson, where he shot 10-of-15 from the field and added six rebounds and a block. He also scored 19 points with four rebounds, four assists, and a steal against Stony Brook, and finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, and three steals versus Northeastern. Defensively, Blakeney held reigning CAA Player of the Year Tyler Tejada of Towson to 4-of-13 shooting.
Blakeney and the Dragons will return to the court on Thursday when they host the Campbell Camels. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.
