Dragon of the Week: Blakeney and Falconi

PHILADELPHIA – Shane Blakeney and Emi Falconi named the Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, for the week of February 17th–23rd.
Shane Blakeney, a member of the men's basketball team, led Drexel to a pair of conference victories against Northeastern and Towson. The junior scored 18 points while adding seven rebounds in a road win at Northeastern before pouring in 24 points on 10-for-15 shooting in a victory over Towson. The Rock Hill, S.C. native shot 66.7 percent from the field against the Tigers and averaged 21.0 points across the two games to help extend the Dragons' winning stretch.
Emi Falconi, a member of the women's squash team, recorded two straight-game victories against nationally ranked opponents. The junior earned a 3-0 win in Drexel's 9-0 sweep of No. 9 Amherst before adding another clean sweep in the Dragons' matchup against No. 5 Trinity. The Riobamba, Ecuador native delivered decisive performances at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions against top-10 competition.
