Desmond Pleasant Receives At-Large Bid to NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS — Desmond Pleasant of the Drexel wrestling team has received an at-large selection to the NCAA DI Championships in Cleveland, Ohio. Pleasant is one of three Dragons who qualified, as Nate Schon and Cody Walsh earned automatic bids at the EIWA Championships this past weekend.

This marks the first NCAA Championships appearance for the redshirt senior. Pleasant finished third at the EIWA Championships on Saturday, posting a 3-1 record with a pair of last-second victories in the consolation semifinals and the third-place match to claim bronze.

The at-large selections were made by the NCAA Division I Men's Wrestling Committee using the following selection criteria: head-to-head competition, quality wins, results against common opponents, winning percentage, ratings percentage index, coaches ranking and conference tournament finish.

The 2026 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships will take place at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio starting Thursday, March 19 through Saturday, March 21.
