Smith Named Drexel's CAA Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year

RICHMOND, Va.- Sebastian Smith of Drexel men's swimming and diving has been named Drexel's Coastal Athletic Association Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year nominee, as announced by the conference on Wednesday.
Smith, a senior, capped his career with a standout season in the pool, leading the team in points and ranking third in the conference overall. He competed at the NCAA Championships in the 100 butterfly and earned six gold medals and one bronze at the CAA Championships. Smith captured individual titles in the 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly while also contributing to first-place finishes in the 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 freestyle relay. He added a bronze medal in the 50 freestyle.
At the conference meet, Smith broke the Drexel school record in the 100 freestyle and was part of a 400 freestyle relay that set a CAA all-time record.
Off the field, Smith has been named to the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll three times during his career, highlighting his success in the classroom alongside his athletic achievements.
Each of the CAA's 11 nominees for the Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be recognized with a crystal award. Elon's Jackson Leavitt was selected as the 2025–26 CAA Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year following a vote of the conference's Academic Affairs Committee.
