PHILADELPHIA – 15 Drexel student-athletes representing the Field Hockey, Dance, Women's Rowing, Men's swimming, Women's Soccer, Rowing and Softball teams participated in the national Reading Across America initiative on Friday, March 6.
The student-athletes visited local elementary schools, aged from kindergarten to third grade, and read with students while promoting literacy. During their visits, the students spent time in classrooms reading with students, engaging in conversations about the value of learning and served as positive role models who emphasized the power of reading. The program allowed student-athletes to give back to the community while reinforcing the importance of education.
