Women’s Rowing Celebrates Senior Day with a Pair of Wins at the Kelly Cup

PHILADELPHIA — The Drexel women's rowing team snatched a pair of victories Saturday at the Kelly Cup. The Dragons Varsity 4+ and 3rd Varsity 8+ teams both collected gold. The Varsity 8+ squad came home in fourth place.

Prior to Saturday's races, Drexel honored six seniors for their contributions to the program: Sabrina Batdorf, Charlotte Bentrim, Lauren Boyce, Sarah Ghazaz, Heather Humes and Ariana Townsend.

The Varsity 4+ boat of Katie O'Donnell (Coxswain), Kari Prosperi (Stroke), Hazel Danko, Paige Hartshorn and River Trotter (Bow) collected their fifth consecutive victory of the season, crossing the line in first with a time of 7:28.7. Rowing in Laura Ludwick White, the Dragons finished over 11 seconds ahead of their Philadelphia rivals.

The 3V8+ team rowed Alleva XVII to victory over Temple with a time of 7:03.3.
