Blakeney Named to All-Big 5 First Team

PHILADELPHIA – Shane Blakeney of the Drexel men's basketball team has been named to the All-Big 5 First Team for the 2025-26 season.

Blakeney capped a breakout season by leading Drexel in scoring with 14.2 points per game during the season, reaching double figures in 29 games, including tying his career-high 24 points against Colgate and Towson. The Rock Hill, S.C. native started every game for the Dragons, averaging 5.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 41.6 percent from the field.

He dominated opponents on the defensive side of the floor, holding his coverage assignments to just 38.6 percent shooting from the field, nearly 11 points below the CAA average of 49.4 percent, while limiting opponents to 25 percent from three-point range in conference assignments. Blakeney accumulated 35 steals and 21 blocks on the season while maintaining one of the lowest foul rates in the conference.
